Now
This is my version of a /now
page. This page
was last updated Thu Nov 21, 2024. I've divided this into "current" and
"future" projects, but I'd consider this really just a general list of things
I'm into right now, and would like to be into in the near future. No pressure
though.
Current Projects
Lightweight habit tracking
I want to start to celebrate the progress I make persuing my self-care and hobby goals with some light weight guilt free habit tracking. I was planning on doing this with a paper planner, but I'm an ADHD haver and paper planners as a concept are villainous. I'm evaluating a couple phone apps to make this more streamlined.
Mobile Sculpture (Cont.)
I am working on a mobile made from aluminum sheets and galvanized steel wire. At the time of writing, I am using a deburring tool to remove the rough edges from the shapes I've cut out using a pair of tin-snips.
Donut Management (Cont.)
At the beginning of the summer I wanted to focus on a few things that were still problems.
- Getting him to stop jumping up on strangers
- Obedience (he's got a real attitude sometimes)
- Being relatively chill around other dogs.
These are all still problems. I need to be more constent and disciplined with him, but it is challenging with how much that requires me to be "on". I take him out a lot for walks and sometimes I just want to get home from going around the block as fast as possible and not worry about training. You're always training a dog, though.
He is getting a bit better approaching other pups though. He has some neighborhood pals he likes to see. It's cute.
I wrote a lot about Donut a while back, and we've made a lot of progress since his adoption, but he's still a handful!!
Biking
It is winter here finally in Chicago, so biking will be tough. I'm tougher.
Setting up a refurbished emulation machine
I recently got my hands on an old Lenovo ThinkCenter that will be really nice for playing my old ps2 games. I'm making a little list of fun games that I never got around to playing. A few standouts are named below.
Future Projects
Drawing and Journaling
I used to do a little bit of journaling here and there, but I recently saw a video on YouTube from someone who suggested trying out a visual journal where drawings can be added to journal entries or as journal entries themselves. I've long been meaning to get back to taking art classes (I've taken a few drawing classes years ago) and this would be a fun way to get back into it.
