Current Projects
#Rewatching Halt and Catch Fire
#Halt and Catch Fire is one of the best shows I've seen in the last couple years. I'll be following along with the Halt and Catch Fire Syllabus that Ashley Blewer put together while I watch the show.
Mobile Sculpture (Cont.)
#I am working on a mobile made from aluminum sheets and galvanized steel wire. At the time of writing, I am using a deburring tool to remove the rough edges from the shapes I've cut out using a pair of tin-snips.
Learning Python
#I've been writing a lot of Python for work the last year and a half and I've started working with it on some out of work projects like the protohackers.com challenge. I used to write Python back when I was in college, and have used it for scripts here and there over the years. It's been nice to come back to it.
Donut Management (Cont.)
#Donut went to obedience school since I last updated this page. He graduated! I've got the certificate stuck to my fridge with a magnet.
He's still a tough dog to manage, and he needs to go back for more obedience classes. We're practicing though! I'm still focused on getting better at a few things with the little man.
- Getting him to stop jumping up on strangers
- Being relatively chill around other dogs.
- Walking nice on the leash
I wrote a lot about Donut a while back, and we've made a lot of progress since his adoption, but he's still a handful!!
Future Projects
#Woodworking
#I am part way through a few projects - the curse of anyone with an interest in woodworking of any kind. I have my eyes on a few woodcarving chisels that I'd like to snag and then go through a woodcarving book I got a little while back. Chiseling is fun.
Drawing and Journaling
#I used to do a little bit of journaling here and there, but I recently saw a video on YouTube from someone who suggested trying out a visual journal where drawings can be added to journal entries or as journal entries themselves. I've long been meaning to get back to taking art classes (I've taken a few drawing classes years ago) and this would be a fun way to get back into it.
